A Faster Alternative to TABC's Restaurant Activity Report
The Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission publishes its own Restaurant Activity Report, a free public tool for browsing recently licensed retailers. It's a genuinely useful starting point — and also raw: every license type mixed together, no restaurant-versus-bar classification, no filtering out off-premise retail or closed applications, and no way to have it delivered to you automatically. OpeningWire is built from the same public TABC filings the Restaurant Activity Report draws on, with the layer distributors, POS resellers, and hospitality suppliers actually need on top: venues classified into restaurant, bar/club, or retail; deduplicated to one row per real premises rather than one row per license; pending applications tracked alongside issued licenses; and the whole feed delivered as a CSV every Monday morning — no manual pulls, no re-filtering the same report every week. Below is a live sample built the same way the weekly feed is: the newest licensed restaurants and bars statewide, already classified and already deduplicated, so what you see here is what a subscriber's inbox gets every Monday — not a preview that needs further cleanup before it's usable for outreach.

Same public source
Built from the same TABC pending-application and issued-license filings the state's own report draws on — nothing proprietary, nothing scraped from a paywall.
Classified, not raw
Every venue is sorted into restaurant, bar/club, or retail, so you're not hand-filtering a mixed license-type export.
Delivered weekly
A CSV lands in your inbox every Monday instead of a report you have to remember to re-pull and re-clean.
Frequently asked questions
Is this the same data as TABC's Restaurant Activity Report?
Yes — the same public TABC pending-application and issued-license filings. OpeningWire adds classification, deduplication, and delivery on top of that public data.
What does OpeningWire add that the free report doesn't have?
Restaurant/bar classification, one row per real premises instead of per license, pending-application tracking, and a weekly delivered CSV instead of a manual pull.
How much does it cost?
Plans start at $99/month for one metro; see pricing on the homepage.
